Established in 1995, Liberty Paper operates a state-of-the-art paper mill dedicated to sustainable paper production in Becker, Minnesota. As one of the largest recyclers of corrugated material in the Midwest, we process 600,000,000 pounds of old corrugated containers (OCC) annually.

Layer the recycled paper to create customized corrugated products at Liberty Packaging facilities.

Products return to the cycle through curbside recycling, completing the circular economy.

Steam Recycling Partnership

Partner: Xcel Energy

Our mill is strategically located next to Xcel Energy, allowing us to recycle their emitted steam—a key component in the papermaking process. This innovative partnership significantly reduces energy consumption.

Effluent Treatment Plant

Installed: 2012

Our ETP pre-treatment system cleans water used in paper production, eliminating the need to truck wastewater to Minneapolis. The anaerobic reactor generates methane for future energy production.

Dem-Con Partnership

Duration: 10+ years

Collaboration with Dem-Con Companies created enhanced recycling services for Scott County and Twin Cities metro. Their Materials Recovery Facility now processes 250M lbs per year.
